Welcome, my name is Mathew Procter

The experience that I bring to my work

I was inspired by the transformative effects of deeper therapies, which led me to create my private practice in 2021 and pursue my passion for psychotherapy. Before private practice, I gained valuable experience working for NGOs in community and residential treatment settings. I have been working in the mental health field since 2012 and completed a Bachelor of Addiction Studies in 2014. To practice as a therapist and accredited supervisor, I completed rigorous national registrations focused on safety and proficiency. As a registered member of DAPAANZ and a student member of APANZ and ITAA, I am committed to delivering safe practice that is competent and respectful, adhering to high standards.

Beginning in 2020, I studied psychotherapy transactional analysis with the Wellington Transactional Analysis Training Institute, in Wellington, Aotearoa, New Zealand, for three years. I am working towards completing my CTA at the beginning of 2026.

My professional interests

I have a heartfelt passion for assisting individuals with a diverse range of concerns, encompassing purpose, stress management, emotional well-being, and relationship difficulties, as well as trauma-related challenges.

My philosophy

The foundation of my philosophy lies in the value of clear communication, with oneself and others, which honours the interconnectedness of our emotional, mental, and physical systems.

I offer a range of services and therapies, of which I have dedicated individual pages to give an overview. If you like the look of what I have to offer contact details are on the How To Contact page.
